It is official, ladies and gentlemen, "Captain" Shawn Dean is officially #AllElite. Shawn Dean, an AEW mainstay, has been working on a "per appearance" basis since March of 2020. Now, just shy of a year later, Dean has been signed to the company.
AEW President, Tony Khan, had this to say on Twitter:
Thank you for your service to the USA, @ShawnDean773, + thank you for everything you’ve done for @AEW to help us thrive through the pandemic. Your consistent hard work, positivity + reliability have made you so valuable to #AEW; now it’s my honor to officially welcome you aboard!
This high praise from Tony Khan led to an equally joyous response from The Captain himself, who stated:
Wow....just Wow.....this has been a journey ...hard work... dedication...against all adversity I stayed the course and it has led to this....dreams work with hard work!!! @TonyKhan and MY entire @AEW family thank you ...thank you ....#Salute and ....#ImWithAEW
Shawn Dean made his debut in 2017 in the Atlanta-based promotion World Wrestling Alliance 4, where he competed in a tag team match in a losing effort against Ashton Starr and Talon Kaguya. Dean made his AEW Dark debut on March 25, 2020, in a losing effort against Shawn Spears. If you want to check out our favorite Shawn Dean match, we've linked it below - Shawn Dean vs. Rey Fenix:
We here at Blade Job Pro Wrestling would like to congratulate Shawn Dean on his recent success, and we hope the best for him in the future!
